The Artist’s Biography
Born in Chicago,
Illinois, as a young child Terrence became increasingly attracted to the
world of art, and painting eventually becoming his primary interest. After
many years of formal and informal training including private instruction
from professors at the Art Institute of Chicago, he graduated 3rd in class
and obtained a degree in the
field of commercial advertising.
In 1968 Mr. Horn
moved to southern Florida, presenting him with the challenge of capturing
the beauty of all of the various lush tropical landscapes. Through
experimentation he developed a tropical style earning him a position
designing artwork for a leading international T-shirt company. This position
enabled him to create designs for various Disney enterprises; numerous
cruise lines, and countless resorts and businesses in the Caribbean, as well
as a wide variety of exotic ports-of-call around the globe.
Mr. Horn has said, “I
love using the brightest colors of the palette enabling me to create
whimsical, fun and carefree scenes. It is my firm belief that while viewing
my work you might somehow obtain a feeling of a total removal of the many
stress levels we encounter during our lifetime. If I had to give a name to
the type of work I create it would be called ‘Tropical Folk Art
Impressionism.’ I hope everyone who views my work will continue to enjoy it
for many years to come.”
